i can feel your smile.

just a few quick shots today because i've been super lazy about posting. i'm really trying to get into the habit of it again, but i guess it's just a gradual thing for me right now.

anyway, here's my pup and some clothes!

hat, urban outfitters / shirt, handmade / skirt, macy's / boots (not pictured) jeffrey campbell coltranes

i was really happy to have found this skirt for a fraction of the cost these things usually are. i tried a sort of similar skirt at free people in boston that sat funny on my body-- i think there was an excess of fabric near the bottom that made me look like a horse-- and was so happy to stumble upon this one a few weeks later! normally, waterfall skirts are a bit weird for me and make me feel short, but this one's good stuff.

actually, this whole outfit is kind of a free people knock-off. the tee was patterned off something i saw on sale from them for more than i wanted to pay, so i just made my own!

i had to stand in the kiddie pool to get nova in.. i used to practice this when he was a puppy by stepping into a box and getting out, and then he'd copy me. i love this dog, and i realized that i want to try to work with animals more, so i'm going to submit a volunteer application to the humane society soon!

zooey style.

hello all,

just sharing a dress from a wonderful little shop called dainty daisies. if you're in the area, check them out! lots of good vintage and hand-mades. definitely worth a look around. i couldn't resist this cute little zooey-deschanel-style number, even though it isn't my usual type of dress-- i'm happy to branch out a bit. in love!

comfy cozy cosby kid.

just a quick outfit post today!
staying warm in my ragstock vintage sweater and hand-studded blouse, topped off with a hat (of the free variety, what better?) and tights. pretty basic.

oh, yes. and i'm blonde, just replacing the last bits of color in my hair with toner for a grey-silver shade. new times, good times. i'm basically giving myself the granny look. and i love it.

makeup, nars / hat, dad's / blouse (altered), t.j. maxx / sweater, ragstock / shorts, tripp / tights / socks / platforms, h&m

pop.

i don't like neon. i don't like it, i don't like it, i don't i don't i don't. i've always stuck my nose up at neon colors on most garments, finding them too sports-chic for my style, so when i found this skirt, i was totally confused at the fact that i was in love. i put up excuses, like maybe the kitsch of the hawaiian print was what made me put up with the neon or something, but there's no getting past it... i like the brightness of the yellow, blue, and green against the black. it's a huge contrast to my mainly-monochromatic wardrobe, and besides, i so wanted prints in my life. this skirt's also a skater skirt, it's high-waisted, it's a mini, it's pretty-ugly, and it FITS me... so it checks off a lot of boxes otherwise.

i put the crazy with a lot of black-and-white-- a graphic tee and a blazer-- to sober things a little. i'm an adult, you know. i have to be taken seriously.

blazer, thrift / shirt, vintage / skirt, forever 21 / tights, forever 21 / shoes, demonia (ebay)

also, wearing this thing made me realize that hey, my hair is pink. my hair is neon. so i should probably get over being so stuck up about some clothes and open my eyes. no wonder i get so bored in fashion sometimes.

face-fixing.

so here are some pictures because i've had all of today free and i've been able to record my outfit for the day. it's all about the lips and the tie dye lyf. there's kind of that morning-after-the-show feel running through the afternoon, punctured with light from my window and cup after cup of coffee.

bowler hat, ebay / sunglasses, ragstock / vintage shirt, thrifted & modern / shorts, bdg / lipstick, urban decay

i finished all of my work on thursday and friday, so i had most of the weekend to both get ahead on work and go into the city to shop around and pick up some cool-weather clothes. the thing is, i ended up returning home with a small list for the internet and a smaller bag of purchases because i felt so uninspired by the clothes i found in my size, i hardly bought a thing. i walked around countless name-brand stores and just looked-- the crosses, the spikes and studs, the ankle booties, the flag prints, whatever... it's getting boring to me. i want new combinations, new, new, new, always, and it propels me forward and forces me to revert back to what i already have and just accessorize from there.

i just ordered a hat and a piece of jewelry off of etsy, and i'm keeping an eye out for one really interesting sweater, and then i'm DONE. i have so many layers, and i'm actually really pleased with my wardrobe. wisconsin and the internet have served me well.
